Kansas City, Kansas has banned food trucks from operating between 17th and 19th Street and Central Avenue for 60 days. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City said this ban is due to burning trash, road closures, parking issues and grease disposal violations, according to a report by KSHB 41.
Food truck operators in the area were surprised by this ruling, including Francisco Valencia, owner of Paco’s Tacos Food Truck.
“It was so random, it was out of pocket,” Valencia said in the report.
The food truck operators also claim that everyone has disposal systems, but UG said this ruling is to prevent sewer blockages.
